My Story
This year I am taking a magical quest filled with adventure and mystery…and it’s all for one incredible cause. I am reading as many books as I can until February 28 to raise funds for people living with multiple sclerosis. Money raised through MS Read-a-Thon will help fund vital support services, like 1:1 Peer Support Program. This program connects people affected by MS with someone who can support them through their experiences with MS and is important to making them feel less alone.
In March of 2012, my mom developed a lots of very concerning symptoms. She had the feeling of fire going up and down her entire left side, and felt unsteady when walking. I spent my spring break dedicated to my mom and making sure she didn't fall down our stairs or something while my dad was at work. After almost a week of this paint and discomfort she was finally diagnosed with MS on her 35th birthday.
Now my mom iseven stronger than ever. She even went through a hip replacement in June and is doing fantastic despite some flare ups. My mom also has multiple autoimmune diseases and is a type 1 diabetic. She fights so much every single day, and I'm proud of her for never giving up. She maintains a positive attitude as much as possible, and does volunteering to try and help others battling this disease.
She is an inspiration to me, and I am excited to raise money while doing something I enjoy, reading!
Thank you for supporting my MS Read-a-Thon adventure!
